Woodbine Entertainment is ready to step up its game and offer harness racing enthusiasts more over this weekend. It would bring 2019 Breeders Crown to Woodbine Mohawk Park for the first time in 11 years. Along with the exciting live races part of the two-day event, racetrack management introduces several guaranteed pools covering all races with prize pools between $50,000 and $100,000.
Harness racing fans eagerly anticipate this weekend across Ontario, as many of them would make their way to Woodbine Mohawk Park for the 36th edition of this riveting race. The two-day event would welcome Standardbred horses aged two and three, as well as older ones on October 26. In order to make the experience a well-rounded one, Woodbine Entertainment unveiled a wide range of guaranteed pools.
Friday Greenlights Wagers
October 25 would see the official start of live racing within the lines of the Breeders Crown, as well as wagering. Race 1 comes with a $100,000 Pick-5 projected to give players the thrill they are searching for. Starting during Race 4 for the day, they will also have the chance to participate in an Early Pick-4 pool with guaranteed cash payouts reaching $50,000. Experience has shown increased participation in such guaranteed pools.
Race 6 on October 25 is projected to greenlight the $100,000 Pick-5 pool, keeping harness racing enthusiasts as involved as possible. This is the new addition to the program, bringing together races across the two days. The last one for this first day of the 2019 Breeders Crown is called Late Pick-4 and it is about to start during Race 9. Saturday is also ready to maintain heat levels as high as possible with four more guaranteed pools.
They are set to follow the established schedule from Friday, this time applying to the races involving three-year-old and older. Post time on both days is going to be 7 p.m. It should be taken into account that the Two-Year-Old Championship brings big names in the horse racing field such as Hypnotic AM and Ramona Hill.
UK Fans Would Soon Enjoy Woodbine Racetrack Action
Woodbine Entertainment also clarified that some changes have been applied to the schedule on both days. The Thoroughbred racing schedule at Woodbine Racetrack is about to commence at 2:35 p.m. on Friday. This would allow fans to watch all races and miss nothing. On Saturday, Thoroughbred racing is projected to commence at 12:45 p.m.
These are all slight changes to the usual 1:05 p.m. post time that would remain effective on Sunday. In other news, Woodbine Racetrack’s live races would now reach a much wider audience, as Sky Sports Racing penned an agreement with the New York Racing Association. This would make it possible for the UK and Ireland-based fans to enjoy the rich schedule of the Ontario racetrack, along with Saratoga Downs, Aqueduct Racetrack, and Belmont Park.
Jim Lawson, Chief Executive of Woodbine Entertainment, said that Thoroughbred racing would benefit from the expanded horizons this arrangement guarantees. He also made it clear that turf racing would receive more attention and events at the two turf courses.
