For about a year, the town of Wasaga Beach has been buzzing with excitement over the casino project that would launch construction in the upcoming months. The leading casino operator purchased the Central Gaming Bundle part of Ontario’s gaming modernization project, eventually obtaining the right to build an entirely new casino in Wasaga Beach. Gateway Casinos & Entertainment chose the location for its vibrant nature and the constant flor of individuals and potential patrons.
Gateway Casinos Invests in New Complex
Over the past twelve months, preparation has been in full swing, with the municipal approvals being one of the most recent steps. In addition to that, the upcoming casino complex also received its mandatory building permit. Mayor Bifolchi said Wasaga Beach is more than ready for the casino project to progress forward, now that it has obtained everything necessary. Cascades Casino Wasaga Beach is projected to attract quite the crowd to Wasaga Beach.
Now it is time for the town to dedicate efforts to the construction timeline in collaboration with the major casino operator. Work on it would make it clear just how long every phase is projected to take, as well as decide on a date for the groundbreaking ceremony and everything surrounding it. This timeline is also going to determine the official opening date coming with a ribbon-cutting ceremony.
Gateway Casinos commonly hosts a soft opening, which aims to determine the level of interest towards a given location ahead of the official launch date a couple of weeks later. Every grand opening comes with many officials and city representatives ready to welcome Crown corporation members and leading casino operator figures envisioning the future.
Construction Timeline Discussed
Gateway Casinos is well on its way to transform Ontario’s gaming field and be the breath of fresh air it needs. The aforementioned Central Gaming Bundle also gave the casino operator the right to oversee operation at OLG Slots at Georgian Downs and Casino Rama. Back in August, Chief Building Official Danny Rodgers said the project plan was thoroughly reviewed and it would fit well in the pinpointed area of construction.
Mayor Bifolchi also expressed her content with the investment in Wasaga Beach, which is projected to make the area even more popular than it currently is among tourists. In addition to that, the local employment field is projected to see a boost, as Cascades Casino Wasaga Beach is going to create many new positions.
Moreover, the casino location is about to support city coffers with its quarterly gaming revenue allocations. Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation is known for its generous allocations for every host community. The first CA$65 million generated as revenue from the slots machines available on site are crucial for the casino. Some 5.25 percent of that amount is allocated to the host community.
