New York State has now officially joined the sports wagering scene on a national level, but there are more players that are yet to join the action and offer a premium experience. The Oneida Indian Nation is about to launch its very own sportsbook in collaboration with Caesars Entertainment and August 1 is eyed as the milestone for Turning Stone Resort Casino in Verona. Enthusiasts are eager to be among the first people to see what the hype is all about and try their luck there.
The time has come for many casino operators to make their first steps in the budding sports wagering field of New York. At this point, it is crucial that all players reserve their spot and make the best of the situation, as this would guarantee them benefits down the road. Collaboration with a leading sportsbook provider and implementing advanced technology are guaranteed to pay off at the end of the day.
August 1 Sees Sports Betting Launch
The tribal casino operator is well aware of that, which has been the driving force behind its sports wagering strategy. For several months now, Oneida Indian Nation has been eying the first days of August as the official launch of sports wagering on the premises of its tribal casinos.
Turning Stone Resort Casino in Verona, as well as Point Place Casino in Bridgeport is now ready to welcome their first wagering enthusiast and showcase all the work put into the sports wagering lounge. Tribal gaming is often perceived as a breath of fresh air in the local casino field and an equal rival to the four commercial casino venues sprinkled across Upstate New York.
Following months of preparation, the casino floors are now ready. Turning Stone Resort Casino is about to cut the ribbon of The Lounge, as the sports wagering zone is called. It comes powered by Scientific Games Corporation implementing its OpenBet technology that is about to change the way locals participate in sports betting activities.
Tribal Operation Thrives
The tribe oversees operation of Turning Stone Casino in Verona, Point Place in Bridgeport, and Yellow Brick Road Casino in Chittenango. The former two are going to welcome eager sports betting enthusiast this week, whereas the latter one would need more time. The official arrangement says that all three of the tribal locations would come with sportsbooks managed by Caesars Entertainment, maintaining the same feel across all properties.
Yellow Brick Road Casino has its lounge built at the moment, but this does not interfere with the normal casino operation. Rivers Casino became a pioneer in the field, as it saw the first legal sports wager mid-July. Gary Pretlow, chair of the state Assembly Racing and Wagering Committee and Schenectady Mayor Gary McCarthy placed the first two bets. Tioga Downs, located in Nichols made July 17 special with a soft opening.
The official launch took place on July 19 at 2:30 p.m. welcoming an even larger crowd on site of the casino venue. Akwesasne Mohawk Casino Resort recently announced it has teamed up with Canadian gaming giant The Stars Group for its future sports betting operation, but for the time being no launch date has been announced.
