Lottery gaming has once again changed the life of tens of people in the province of Ontario, as it was recently confirmed. A group of 62 individuals became eligible for a cash payout of CA$1 million with the help of a single Lotto MAX ticket they purchased as a group. Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation confirmed that one of them is an OLG employee.
Lottery gaming is one of the most popular and optimized gambling offerings out there, as it allows people of legal age to try their luck whenever they feel like it both via instant and draw-based lottery products. Lotto MAX is one of the most popular draw-based lottery games available, which is what drew these individuals to the ticket purchase.
Ontario Winners
As many as 62 people became eligible for the CA$1-million Maxmillions prize coming with the regular Lotto MAX draw. March 31 will forever be remembered as the special day that made them much richer. Each of the individuals is now eligible for a cash payout of CA$16,129.35 as a result of the winning ticket. The CA$1-million prize is not the only prize they bagged then.
Another selection ticket resulted in an additional CA$20 payout, further increasing their share of the overall CA$1,000,020 prize. The individuals had a total of 52 weeks to bag their lottery prize in time before it expires but there was another detail standing in their way. One of them is an employee at an OLG retail location which slows down the overall process. Karen Sullivan of Ennismore makes this an Insider Win.
The two-phase mandatory protocol already commenced with a careful examination of the prize claim. Now, over the next 30 days, individuals across the province will have the right to voice their opinion, if they have such. In case there are no additional claims, the payout slices will be paid out on December 1.
Quebec Winner
The popular Lotto MAX draw-based lottery product brought a Main prize of CA$70 million at the beginning of October. This amount is also the maximum jackpot it could bring to the table. October 9 saw this jackpot link with the numbers printed on a ticket sold in Quebec. Loto-Québec confirmed back then that a ticket sold in Montreal became eligible for the cash payout.
Back then it was announced that the winner had purchased their lottery ticket in Montreal and they have a total of 52 weeks to contact the Crown corporation and claim their prize. The numbers drawn were 04, 06, 12, 30, 32, 33, 34, as well as the bonus one 29. One ticket matched all seven of the main numbers coming with this weekly draw.
Now it was confirmed that the winner has reached out and claimed their prize and a special celebration is being prepared. This Friday is scheduled to see the CA$70-million cheque being presented in Montreal, with the face and the name of the winner publicly revealed. Lotto MAX’ Main prize on November 6 will amount to approximately CA$19 million.
