New York State is progressing really well in its rehabilitation process after the occurrence of the unprecedented situation. Last week Governor Andrew Cuomo announced that health and safety protocols will be eased. In light of this news, Rivers Casino & Resort Schenectady has also made some adjustments to its protocols, as fully vaccinated guests will not be required to wear a protective face mask.
The gambling hot spot for many New Yorkers was shut down for a huge portion of 2020, since it closed down in March 2020 and reopened in September 2020. Even since the last year’s reopening the casino property has been operational in limited capacity and strict health and safety measures in order to contain the spread of the unprecedented situation.
One Step Closer to Normality
Gambling entities are now one step closer to the former normality as Governor Cuomo announced ease of lockdown restrictions. Then on Friday, Rivers Casino & Resort Schenectady has also made a public statement that masks will no longer be mandatory for fully vaccinated guests of the property, as long as they provide proof upon entering.
According to the statement from the casino, with immediate effect thanks to the help of CDC and NYS Department of Health, fully vaccinated guests of the property will no longer be required to wear a protective face mask. However, clients who only partially or not vaccinated at all for the contagious virus must continue to wear the protective masks.
Currently, the NY gambling property operates under a 50% player capacity, and patrons must also comply with the social distancing rules with a 6-foot physical distance between them. The casino ensured that its Sure Bet Sanitizing cleaning program will remain in full force and it will continue to provide hand wipes and hand-sanitizer stations across the premises.
Management of the property stated that it is looking forward to continuing to provide a safe and entertaining experience for its patrons and workforce. The gambling hall operates on a daily basis from 6 a.m. until 2 a.m., and the downtime is being used to conduct a thorough deep clean of all premises. Most of the property’s services are available with the exception of the poker room, event center, and valet parking.
Parting Ways
Previously, the gambling hotspot had a change in its management department, as the casino parted ways with its General Manager Justin Moore. Mr. Moore’s departure was announced on April 2, 2021, and it was with immediate effect. The now-former employee of the NY gaming venue has headed towards another one of the corporation’s casino properties in the country – Rivers Casino Philadelphia.
Prior Schedule Changes
After its reopening in September last year, the casino venue was allowed to extend its operational hours in February this year. Thanks to the legislature’s new order, the property announced its extended schedule of operations just in time for February 14. The casino was allowed to operate every day from 6 a.m. to 11 p.m., with the sportsbook also available during these hours.
