Eyeing Further Expansion in New York
Currently, Genting Americas owns three casino properties in the Empire State but the company wants to expand its operations. The operator is after one of the full-scale gaming licenses for downstate New York. According to Maybank IB Research, the company is a frontrunner for one, as its Resort World New York City will have a head start as an already functioning casino.
While pushing for one of the licenses, the company was able to debut a new gaming amenity at the Newburgh Mall, titled Resorts World Hudson Valley. It opened in December 2022, and it boasts 60,000 square feet of ground, while its gaming floor is equipped with over 1,200 slot machines and electronic table games, and there’s also the Resorts World Bet Sports Bar.
