NYRA Looking to Hire for Saratoga Race Course

The time has almost come for another exciting summer meet at the historic Saratoga Race Course, and the New York Racing Association is looking to hire. This week, the association revealed that it will be hosting a job fair to fill up various seasonal positions at the track for the 2023 Thoroughbred meet. It starts on June 22 through June 24, 2023.

Fans of horse racing will be glad to learn that the Saratoga summer meet will officially kick off on July 13, 2023, and will run through Labour Day, September 4, 2023. It will have a four-day opening weekend, but after that, it will move to a five-day one. Wednesdays, through Sundays, with the exception of the closing week, when the meet will end on Monday.

Now Hiring

NYRA reported that the hiring event will be running from June 22 through June 24, 2023, at the Thoroughbred track located at 267 Union Ave. More particularly, the three-day fair will be held at the track’s 1863 Club from 3 to 7 p.m. Thursday and Friday, and from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday. Applicants are asked to enter through the Wright Street entrance or Gate 8.

Those who arrive at the site for the event will be able to park at the 1863 Club parking lot. Meanwhile, NYRA reported that there will be plenty of opportunities to choose from. Including All Pro restorative services, AmTote International, Dyehard Fan Supply, Integrated Staffing, Levy Restaurants, Mazzone Hospitality and Union Square events, and several among others.

The association reminded that applicants must be at least 15 years old and have New York State Certified Working Papers. Meanwhile, candidates for security guards, cashiers, and betting clerks, must be at least 18 years of age. Also, security guards must also have a high school degree or GED. Candidates must also present a photo ID and Social Security card or I-9 alternative.

For the summer meet, NYRA has also prepared some giveaways with paid admissions. On July 21, there will be an insulated cooler jug for fans. Followed by a t-shirt on August 11 with NYRA Bets and FOX Sports logos. Then on August 18, guests will get a fashionable bucket hat with Saratoga’s logo. Last but not least, September 1 will come with a red and white tote bag.

This scene has been set, as the track is now preparing for another exciting edition of the summer meet. This year’s running will be highlighted by Whitney on August 5, 2023, and the 154th Travers on August 26, 2023. In total, the track will contest 71 world-class stakes events which will feature over US$20.8 million in purse money.

Track May Host the Belmont Stakes

But that is not all, as NYRA could have additional plans for the Saratoga Springs track. Recently, the association said that the track could host Belmont Stakes in 2025. This is due to the fact that the organization received approval from New York to begin the renovation of Belmont Park. But if the redevelopment is not finished in time, Saratoga could home the stakes.
