LeoVegas on EGR Operator Shortlist; New Games and Features

Canadian favorite, LeoVegas Casino has been recognized by the B2B magazine publisher and industry intelligence service, EGR as one of the top 10 casino operators on the planet for 2017. The EGR Shortlist was announced today with Leo Vegas running head to head with world power players 888casino, Casumo, and Mr Green among others. The awards will be presented October 26, 2017 at London’s Grosvenor House.

Nominated peers will be the only ones allowed to vote in such categories as Game of the Year, etc., making the EGR Operator Awards the most prestigious and coveted honors awarded each year.

Only one will be chosen to reign supreme while others may tout the honor of simply being shortlisted until the 2018 nominees are announced next year. The award is so prestigious that a badge for it will often appear on a casino’s web page for years to come.

One of the most impressive things about the LeoVegas rise to prominence and standing this year is that they have also been nominated Sports Betting Operator of the Year, Socially responsible operator, Mobile operator, and Casino operator of the year in addition to the overall Operator category.

Rising up the ranks to become a true contender for the “crown”, LeoVegas long ago left space in the Rising Star category for other licensed and regulated casinos serving the Canadian market like Casumo’s new Dunder Casino.

One highlight of the LeoVegas operational year was the expansion of their exclusive live dealer studio provided by Evolution Gaming in Malta. The live casino was experiencing so much traffic that they decided to expand the Chambre Séparée (separate room) Live Room. In addition to bringing in additional highly trained and professional multilingual dealers and adding the ability to chat with them, they have added more games and offer an improved version of their Immersive Roulette game. While the “Lite” version available now still offers high definition camera views from several angles, slow motion replays no longer delay the game.

The studio makes use of HD graphics and displays, an improved sound system, enhanced LED lighting and additional camera angles. Inside the Chambre Séparée is also the only place to find LeoVegas Dansk celebrity blackjack.

One seemingly simple thing LeoVegas has done as an operator is to utilize geo-location technology. The website server simply reads a visitor’s IP address and presents a relevant website for any given location. This means that players in Canada will not see games from NetEnt or NYX, whereas visitors in the Nordic regions will. Net Entertainment and NYX Interactive have withdrawn all games from the Canadian open market.

LeoVegas Gaming Ltd is also licensed in multiple jurisdictions so that players in every region have someone to turn to in case of a dispute. While the Gambling Commission in the UK provides excellent oversight for residents there, they have no sway anywhere else. LeoVegas is licensed by the Danish Gambling Authority (spillemyndigheden.dk/) for Nordic players and the Malta Gaming Authority (MGA) handles all licensing and regulation for the rest of the world.

Frequent game releases from world-renown software developers who are audited, tested, and certified could also give LeoVegas a boost in voter’s eyes. While the seamless integration of online casino games from multiple providers may seem par for the course nowadays thanks to advanced APIs and state-of-the-art platforms, the company still pulls it off without a hitch in every instance. Many games go live first at LeoVegas and only appear in other operators’ catalogs later. One of the most recent new game releases at LeoVegas was from Realistic Games who provide four new animated virtual pull tabs.
