December 23, 2020 at 11:59 p.m. EST is projected to see their temporary suspension of operation and for the time being no timeline for their reopening has been issued.
The province of Ontario is currently preparing for a province-wide shutdown which is set to commence on December 26 at 12:01 a.m. The northern part of Ontario is set to experience this lockdown for 14 days, whereas the southern part will have to close non-essential businesses for 28 days. Indoor and outdoor dining will be prohibited, whereas outdoor gathering will be limited to 10 people practicing physical distancing.
Great Canadian Gaming Corporation evaluated the limitations and decided that closing all casinos in Ontario is the best approach for the time being.
