Bryce Herman managed to arrange everything regarding his lawsuit against Chances Casino Kamloops, a scandal that broke out last summer. The former Director of Marketing launched a CA$135,000 battle against its former employer, claiming that there was a breach of his contract terms and conditions. Mr. Herman succeeded in reaching a mutually beneficial solution to this controversial situation.
Keeping in mind all previous agreements is mandatory when the management of a company changes, but when it comes to oral arrangements things might get trickier. Mr. Herman could confirm that the situation around his employment went south in the summer of 2019, soon after Chances Casino Kamloops had its management changed. Gateway Casinos & Entertainment gained access to the gambling venue for good and some changes took place.
Chances Casino Kamloops in Legal Dispute
The casino operator terminated Mr. Herman’s work at Chances Casino Kamloops, following years of involvement with the gaming location. He has been in connection with it ever since 2002, contributing with his experience and devoting his time for its success. It should be taken into account that there was never a written contract for his work at the gaming location, as it was all on a verbal basis.
The former Director of Marketing had an agreement with Pat and Gary Hart, the former owners of Chances Casino Kamloops, to provide his help with the organization of various events and increasing the popularity of this location. Over the first months of his work with the gaming location, he bagged a wage amounting to CA$3,000, a sum that was progressively growing throughout the years ahead of 2019.
Mr. Herman’s final months of work at Chances Casino Kamloops brought him a salary of CA$4,500 a month. He was considered a contractor, instead of an employee of the gaming venue, as Mr. and Ms. Hart referred to him. His last day of work according to the oral agreement was July 31, 2019, but the new management decided to put an end to it on June 20, 2019.
Director of Marketing Settles Dispute
This breach is what triggered the former Director of Marketing to launch a lawsuit against Gateway Casinos. The civil claim was filed in the local registry of the British Columbia Supreme Court claimed that his right shave been violated by the new management and justice was sought. However, as it turned out, the former employee and Chances Casino Kamloops’ new management never made it to the Supreme Court, as the situation was settled ahead of that.
Mr. Herman recently clarified that he was content with the conditions he agreed with. No further details regarding the arrangement between the two parties was issued publicly at this point, as it is considered a personal matter. However, it has been confirmed that both parties are happy with the reached conclusion of this unfortunate situation.
It could be recalled that Gateway Casinos took control over Chances Casino Kamloops at the beginning of 2019. This made the casino operator a sort of monopoly in the region, as the casino operator has been impacting the local field ever since 2015. This is when Cascades Casino Kamloops, a proprietary casino complex launched operation and became a direct competitor to the other gaming venue.
