eQube Gaming sheds more light on the day-to-day operation at its Edmonton headquarters in relation to the growing COVID-19 concerns on a provincial and national level. The gaming company pointed out recently that its latest decision was to lay off about 85 percent of the full-time equivalents in Nevada, Ireland, as well as in Edmonton, Alberta. The reason is social distancing implementation.
The global pandemic of the novel coronavirus is an unprecedented situation that has left many people restless, temporary or permanently unemployed. Non-essential businesses are closed indefinitely. eQube Gaming has taken the dynamic situation into consideration and is implementing safety measures promoting social distancing. The three gaming offices sprinkled across three jurisdictions were recently affected by temporary layoffs.
Layoffs Introduced
Last week was the layoff of nearly 85 percent of the workforce across Nevada, Ireland, and Edmonton. It is a temporary solution, while the gaming developer is in shutdown mode. This decision is about to make eQube Gaming’s future operation easier. Limiting social gatherings to less than 50 people in an enclosed space is the official decision of the governments of the US, Ireland, and Canada.
Alberta, where the headquarters of the gaming company is located, is one of the Canadian provinces that has witnessed a total of 690 confirmed cases of the novel coronavirus. Some 94 of those have made a full-recovery from COVID-19. The past couple of days has witnessed a steep decline of the new cases, showing that social distancing is, in fact, giving results on a provincial level. The popular eQube Gaming is also following the regulations.
Offices associated with the gaming leader have been closed indefinitely, as well as the customers’ operations, at least for the time being. Andrew Janko, the Chief Executive Officer, has implemented safety measures eyeing health protection for all staff members of eQube Gaming. The gaming company also confirmed that there have not been reported COVID-19 cases among the employees.
Better Days on the Horizon
In the upcoming weeks of operation, the Board of Directors and key management are about to hold weekly meetings updating them on any changes in the situation. They are about to look through the measures implemented and whether or not they are efficient enough. The weekly meetings are also going to make evaluations on any additional measures that should be introduced, acting accordingly to the changing situation.
Mr. Janko made it clear that eQube Gaming wants to pave the way for a brighter gaming future and return as a well-positioned gaming company following the social distancing period of the pandemic. It only makes sense for the long-term goals the company has set at the beginning of this year. The stakeholders would also be affected by the future of the company, further motivating eQube Gaming to work hard towards its goals.
It could be recalled that this year has been a busy one for the gaming provider. The end of January saw the official announcement of its new bingo offering. The Tringos are about to make the electronic bingo offering even more exciting and entertaining. Each of these special characters is going to have a special backstory making them stand out from the crowd.
