More great news coming to the New York gambling fanatics as del Lago Resort and Casino reported that it will be extending its working hours. Thanks to the recent orders from the New York Gaming Commission and the state’s government the gambling venue will be able to extend its schedule and offer longer betting hours to its guests.
The Waterloo casino property has been operated under a trimmed working schedule and very strict health and safety protocols due to the occurrence of the unprecedented situation. But the New York government most recently decided to grant an extension of business enterprises such as bars, restaurants, and even casinos. Thus, bringing state’s businesses one step closer to their usual settings.
New Schedule
Following the working hours extension order, the gambling site will be complying with a new schedule from April 5. The property will be open from Sundays to Thursdays from 8 a.m. to 2 a.m. Fridays and Saturdays will have slightly longer schedules, with working hours from 8 a.m. to 4 a.m. Besides the new operational hours, the casino and its guest must continue to strictly follow health and safety measures.
Executive vice president and general manager of the gambling hall Lance Young recently addressed the new extension of hours by thanking the New York gaming commission for making it possible. Additionally, he informed that the casino will be operating under the state’s condition of 25% guest capacity. And visitors of the gaming property will be checked for a high level of temperature upon entering.
Operational restaurants in the facility will have a 75% guest limit. Mr. Young further explained that there will be a six feet distance between all tables in the food areas of the facility. The buffet area remains closed for now since regular buffet operations are considered unsafe for the time being due to their nature. However, there are plans to resolve the issue where guests will be choosing their food preferences in the dining area and the food will be brought to them.
Despite the unfortunate gambling industry conditions, Mr. Young stated that the casino’s sportsbook area has enjoyed plenty of interest since the official reopening. According to him, there has been a 20% surge in numbers for the sports betting offerings, compared to last year’s results for the same timeframe.

Tioga Downs Casino and Resort will be also extending its operational status as of April 5. With the new schedule, the casino will be available for visits from Sundays through Thursdays from 9 a.m. – 1 a.m. and on Fridays and Saturdays from 9 a.m. – 3 -a.m. Food areas in the facility will be closing at 11 p.m. curfew.
