Loto-Quebec recently set the province of Quebec on the path to vaccination through incentives, as it launched its very own vaccination lottery campaign. However, this did not happen without any complications, as the website making registration much easier, experienced some technical difficulties over the weekend. Quebec residents were preparing ahead for the process.
It was all supposed to commence on Sunday, July 25, with the process launching at 8 a.m. In reality, the webpage was letting people know that the site is down and some time will be needed for the team to resolve the technical difficulties. The health ministry also confirmed this notion with an official message issued that very day.
Draw Registration
It could be recalled that earlier this summer, the Health Minister of Quebec, Christian Dubé and Finance Minister Eric Girard announced that the province will be the latest one to launch a lottery vaccination incentive promotion. This lottery comes with over CA$2,000,000 in prizes distributed to individuals, as the local government is trying to encourage more people to get the jab. Many individuals have felt drawn towards this initiative and its perks.
Those of them who have already received at least one dose of any of the vaccines available for Canadians, have the right to register for participation in the lottery. It really does not matter when the shot has been received, or whether the individual has already gotten both of the doses. Each Friday of this August is set to be a special one, as this is when draws will take palce. When they register online, individuals could bag a CA$150,000 prize or a CA$10,000 scholarship.
There will be four draws during the special lotto campaign, which will take place over the month of August. Each draw will feature a main prize of CA$150,000 for a total of CA$600,000 during the four draws. Then in September, the grand prize of CA$1,000,000 will be given away. Individuals of legal age that have already received both shots of a vaccine will get the chance to bag it.
Busy August
The new lottery draw launching this August will also feature prizes for children aged from 12 to 17, as the winners in the demographic will be awarded bursaries from CA$10,000 to CA$20,000 for school. Earlier this year, two other provinces also gave their nod to a similar vaccine lottery with tons of prizes and those were Manitoba and Alberta. Manitoba’s lottery brings three CA$100,000 for the Winnipeg health region and one for each four other health regions in the province.
Moreover, there will be 10 CA$25,000 scholarships prizes for eligible children from 12 to 17. Alberta has also implemented the special lotto program as a way of getting more people immunized and its official name is Open for Summer. The campaign has already started and it now has its first major winner, as Tracey McIvor from Langdon is the winner of the first draw. The lucky ticket holder received some CA$1,000,000.
