Lotto MAX CA$50-Million Jackpot Chopped Up to Benefit 20 Players

Lottery jackpots are among the most exciting ways a person could change their life in a matter of seconds. Lotto MAX and Lotto 6/49 enjoy the attention of millions of people across Canada, evident by the most recent jackpot hit. A single ticket purchased by 20 individuals from Quebec would claim the CA$50-million Lotto MAX prize, transforming their day-to-day lives.

When it comes to lottery action, a common practice among friends and co-workers is the purchase of a joint ticket. This makes it easier for the individuals to make the step and potentially win big as a result of the following regular lottery draw. There are groups of colleagues that purchase joint tickets on a regular basis and sometimes they manage to make their dreams come true. The latest Lotto MAX draw, which took place on Friday, is one of the greatest examples.

Quebec Individuals Split Cash Prize

As many as 20 individuals participated in the purchase of the said ticket. The lucky ticket was purchased in Brossard, Quebec according to the information issued by Loto-Quebec. For the time being, it is uncertain whether the ticket purchasers that chipped in for it know each other. What is certain is that they would bag a fair share of the overall sum.

The big prize amounts to exactly CA$50 million. Matching the seven digits that appeared on the screen guaranteed the jackpot hit for this particular lucky piece of paper. Those numbers were 02, 03, 05, 12, 21, 22, 37 plus the bonus one 19 that benefitted three players matching the first six digits only.

Those three tickets instantly became eligible for a cash payout of CA$150,877. As for the Main Prize, each of the individuals participating in the ticket purchase is now ready to bag their CA$2.5-million share of the overall amount. They have some 52 weeks to claim the cash prize and think of all the projects and adventures it could make a reality.

Big Changes Come this Month

Over the past couple of weeks, Fridays were eagerly anticipated because of the growing Lotto MAX jackpot. As it often happens with this game, as soon as they hear that the jackpot is growing, people are eager to purchase their ticket and increase the overall cash prize. Mid-April the Lotto MAX jackpot reached CA$16 million.

Soon after that, the cash prize was already past the CA$20-million threshold, increasing with each passing day. By May 3 this amount had already hit the CA$50-million mark and all eyes were set on the prize. According to the estimations, the next regular Lotto MAX draw is going to be a generous one as well, as it would come with a CA$12-million prize. This month is about to introduce revolutionary changes to the game.

The Interprovincial Lottery Corporation is going to introduce a second weekly draw on Tuesday, May 14. In addition to that, the game is also going to see a cap raise, increasing the maximum jackpot to CA$70 million. It could be recalled that back when it first launched, the lottery game had a CA$50-million cap. The corporation is also planning to introduce an additional fiftieth number, which would eventually worsen the odds of winning.
