Casino Rama Works on Riveting Live Shows

Casino Rama is ready to welcome back more patrons and treat them to fine entertainment on a regular basis. This will easily happen now that the Government of Ontario has given a green light to more venues, allowing those to work a 100-percent capacity and compensate for the previous restrictions. The announcement coming from the provincial officials came late Friday afternoon.

Capacity limits for indoor concert venues were also listed within the changes taking place. Both indoor and outdoor settings were included in the announcement, as the province is attempting to get back to normal operation. The move was consulted with the Chief Medical Officer of Health, keeping in mind public health and health care indicators.

Work at 100% Capacity

The new announcement also relates to outdoor settings that have a capacity below 20,000. Christine Elliott, Deputy Premier and Minister of Health, made it clear that the number of individuals receiving the shot has been steadily growing and the overall number surpasses 22 million doses. This growth gives the Government of Ontario peace of mind and the confidence to make a move.

Effective October 9, capacity limits were lifted at concert venues, theatres, and cinemas. Robert Mitchell, Director of Communications and Public Affairs for Gateway Casinos, pointed out that this is great news for the local community and the casino resort. Such an improvement will make it possible for large concerts and special events to take place at Casino Rama for the first time in more than a year. The concert venue adjacent to the casino has not worked at full capacity since March 2020.

Casino management wants to welcome back everyone willing to enjoy live performances of some of the most famous artists as soon as possible. For the time being, however, there are no firm dates set for upcoming shows. Coming up with a program would require some technical time. It is no secret that artists themselves make the decision of where to perform and under what restrictions.

Plans Made

For the time being, the restaurant venues and the casino area will remain working at 50-percent capacity. However, the entertainment zone at Casino Rama features a total of 5,000 seats, meaning that it could host bigger events on a regular basis. Mr. Mitchell is also positive that other restrictions for physical distancing will be relaxed in the upcoming months.

Casino Rama is ready to recall some staff members to help with the preparation and further work of the entertainment center. The complex itself will have to keep all other safety measures when it comes to the health and work of staff members. Individuals will still need to wear face masks, go through regular screening and have their information collected for contact tracing.

Gateway Casinos and Entertainment’s Casino Rama enjoyed a rather smooth transition back to operations. This summer, the gaming property was on schedule to enter the next stage of its reopening plan, as the hotel facilities were set to restart operations and welcome back guests on August 19, 2021. Additionally, The Weirs restaurant reopened the following day. This happened more than a year after the complex had to temporarily suspend its operation.
