Cascades Casino North Bay will soon feature its extended water and sewer lines, as the project recently entered a new phase of its development. North Bay City Council picked Canor Construction Inc. as the company that would make it possible for the upcoming casino to operate in an advanced manner once it welcomes its first casino patrons.
The contract approved recently amounted to some CA$1.7 million, including harmonized sales tax. With its help, the future casino complex is going to be a well-rounded one with premium facilities once it launches regular operation. North Bay City Council is currently working on picking the most proficient companies to propel the project forward and perfect it. Canor Construction will be the next one.
Canor Construction with Contract
This was one of the seven companies that participated in the bid for the construction. It was also the one with the lowest bid. Now that local officials have made up their minds, it is time for the specifics. Canor Construction will have to extend the existing sanitary sewer with some 280 meters. In addition to that, the company will also have to extend the water main some 200 meters.
This is going to make it possible for the new casino complex to feature both water and sewer lines and meet the expectations of all future casino patrons. The construction work will take place along Pinewood Park Drive and the Decaire Road area. With its help, any future projects taking place in the zone will also be able to benefit from the extension.
Development in the region has seen a surge and projections are positive. Coun. Chris Mayne pointed out that the south end of North Bay has witnessed a growth and some plans have already been revealed. Gagandeep Dhinsa, chief risk officer for Brampton-based BVD Petroleum, wants to build a Four Points by Sheraton hotel right next to Cascades Casino North Bay.
Casino Construction Paused
The proposed project is about to amount to some CA$15 million and created around 50 new jobs for the people of North Bay. It is going to make it possible for more people to make their way to North Bay and stay there for more than one day. Subsequently, they will explore the local businesses and help them grow. Gateway Casinos and Entertainment is the casino operator that will oversee the hotspot.
It could be recalled that mid-June, the City Council also rewarded Tatham Engineering Ltd. a contract. Thanks to it, the company will have the permission to do roadwork in the Lakeshore and Pinewood Park drives intersection area. This will make it possible for vehicles traveling to and fro the casino complex to do so in an optimized manner and thus eliminate traffic jams.
The contract itself amounts to CA$222,145 including harmonized sales tax. Upcoming weeks are projected to see the preliminary design associated with the project and its subsequent approval. For the time being, however, the construction of Cascades Casino North Bay is still on pause. The project broke ground in May 2019 and it was supposed to launch in July this year.
