Cascades Casino Langley Fuels Local Hospice with CA$25,000

Cascades Casino Langley recently announced its support to Langley Hospice Society through financial support amounting to CA$25,000. The amount of money is going to support the local hospice to be built over the next year. For the second year in a row, the Glass Half Full special event raising money transformed Harrison Pointe into a heated location for people willing to offer their support.

Upwards of CA$21,000 was generated as a result of the fundraising event. This weekend was a special one for the hospice located in Langley and in need of financial support in its final stages of development. In order to make this dream into reality, a special event made Harrison Pointe a gathering point for the organizations and individuals willing to help the honorable cause.

Langley Hospice Society Received Funding

With the help of all the support attracted over the second annual event, construction would be covered. It is projected to commence at the beginning of January 2020. However, the hospice itself should feel like home to the people making their way in, which calls for attention to detail and more money poured into the project. This amount reaches CA$1 million and it would be raised over the following year.

Cascades Casino Langley made it clear that it is willing to support the initiative and make it even better with its allocation amounting to CA$25,000. This sum is going to be invested in the project over the following two years of the Langley Hospice construction and furnishing. This is projected to happen with the help of the corporative program GatewayGIVES that has supported host community projects across the provinces.

Tanya Gabara, Director of Public Relations at Gateway Casinos, confirmed the amount would safely make it to the Langley Hospice and be the driving engine of future work ahead of the official launch ceremony. In a way, casino money is about to find yet another way to support the local community, along with regular gaming revenue allocations.

Cascades Casino Langley Renovations

Fiscal 2017/2018 saw some CA$7.6 million in gaming revenue allocations making their way to city coffers. Projects such as the renovation of 200th Street crossing the Nicomekl River and the bridge deck which needed to be replaced saw a boost. Moreover, the local Penzer Youth Action Park also saw an improvement as it witnessed new additions diversifying the existing offerings.

Last November saw the official announcement of Phase two of the renovations commencing at Cascades Casino Langley, modernizing and refreshing it. The first phase brought a brand-new bingo hall, as well as improvement to the Match Eatery and Public House. The second phase of this project worked on Atlas Steak + Fish restaurant. The overall cost of the two phases reaches CA$18 million.

In addition to that, the casino venue was also able to support its host community via work at Brydon Park and Nicholas Park earlier this year. The project included new recreational activities opportunities installed in the areas. Moreover, 203 Street located in the area of Fraser Highway and Logan Avenue also saw improvements as a result of casino venue operation.
