NYRA Organizes Special Giveaway Sale

The New York Racing Association informs that horse racing fans will be able to get their hands on numerous collectibles from this summer or from the last decade. The premium giveaway sale will be hosted at the historic Saratoga Race Course and it will be on Wednesday, September 1, as fans will be able to pick their favorite items from the past.

Fans who intend on purchasing an item of historic value from the last decade will be able to do so in a few days. The sale will be hosted on September 1, 2021, at the Saratoga Race Course and it will begin at around 11 a.m. and it will be near the Clubhouse exchange. The association reminds everyone that the items will be limited, so be sure to be there early.

Limited Sale

NYRA informs that the giveaway sale in a few days will include a series of memorable items from past racing seasons. The list features Angel Cordero, Jr. bobblehead, 2015 Saratoga cooler bag, and long-sleeve tee, 2016 Saratoga zip-up pullover, 2017 Saratoga wall clock, as well as a selection of Saratoga umbrellas, t-shirts, beach towels, hats, and even more items from the last decade.

The association also informs that the vintage and recent collectibles will be available for US$10 or less. However, the association also warns that all supplies will be limited so be sure to be there in time. Additionally, the sale will accept only cash, and also all sales will be final. Locals can also acquire a free Grandstand admission ticket for Wednesday’s giveaway sale by donating to a food drive on the New York Showcase Day. By donating at least three non-perishable items to the LifeWorks Community Action, on August 27, 2021, they will receive a free Grandstand admission ticket for Wednesday, September 1 or Thursday, September 2.

The food drive event on New York Showcase Day is scheduled to be at the Community Outreach Booth near the Jockey Silks Room Porch starting from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. The recommended list of items to donate is pasta, peanut butter, cereal, rice, soup, and canned vegetables. NYRA Community Relations Manager Vanessa Rodriguez Payne said that fans who donate will be rewarded with a chance to buy a collectible from the past.

July Job Fair

Last month, the New York Racing Association hosted another job recruitment fair, in order to hire more staff members for the 2021 summer meet. The event took place on July 7, 2021, at Saratoga Race Course’s, Big Red Spring Tent. The association needed staff at the following positions: betting clerks, cashiers, cleaning staff, food service, hospitality, merchandise assistants, parking attendants, program sellers, security guards, waitstaff, and white caps.

Saratoga Live Returns

This summer, fans also witnessed the return of the award-winning TV show Saratoga Live. The program’s purpose is to provide TV coverage of the 40-day 2021 summer at the Saratoga Race Course, which begun on July 15, 2021. The first show for the season aired two days later on July 17, 2021, and it featured a special program on the Grade 1, US$500,000 Diana Stakes. Overall, the TV series will provide 220 hours of live horse racing coverage.
