New York is soon going to be the newest state to welcome regulated sports wagering and the entire industry is buzzing in preparation for the official launch. Akwesasne Mohawk Casino Resort made its official announcement that it is about to team up with Canadian gaming giant The Stars Group for its future sports betting operation. This means the Canadian company will receive the OK for online sports wagering on a state level once this offering is available.
August is a milestone month for New York State, as it is about to bring the official launch of sports wagering in a newly regulated field that awaits its first players. Four commercial casinos in addition to seven tribal ones are currently preparing their venues for the new addition that is projected to attract a large crowd of in-person bettors. One of the tribal casino venues that would launch betting is Akwesasne Mohawk Casino Resort.
Casino Resort Teams Up with Canadian Giant
In order to reserve its most convenient spot in the budding sports wagering field, the tribal casino resort entered a collaboration with the Canadian gaming force with international influence. At this point, it is crucial that all participants in the future gaming sector reserve their spots and negotiate the most beneficial conditions.
Attracting and signing a partnership with a gaming giant is also important, as it would ensure future success for the casino location in question. When it comes to Akwesasne Mohawk Casino Resort this means a partnership with the leading Canadian iGaming company that has already explored diverse markets around the globe.
Now it is time for New York and the tribal casino operator would benefit from its refined sportsbook. As a result of the collaboration between the two entities, the North Country Region would have the opportunity to enjoy wagering on sports events in a regulated manner and with all player protections implemented. The Saint Regis Mohawk Tribe oversees operation of the venue and it is ready to welcome the brand new offering.
Sports Betting Launches this August
The tribal casino complex attracts casino patrons to the Akwesasne Mohawk reservation. The gaming floor spans across 140,000 square feet and has enough space for the preferred by many slot devices. There are some 1,800 of those at the casino venue, in addition to some 30 table games. It originally launched operation in April 1999, but underwent a complete renovation in 2012, elevating the player experience.
This expansion and renovation made it the most prominent casino location in the North Country. Todd Papineau, General Manager of Akwesasne Mohawk Casino Resort, made the announcement and highlighted all the possibilities it creates for the casino resort, as well as for the gaming giant. For the time being, the casino location is going to offer in-person sports wagering solely, as this would meet the regulations.
Upcoming years are projected to bring mobile sports betting to New York, an activity that is subject to a state constitutional amendment, which would take more time and the contribution of New Yorkers. The collaboration would result in The Stars Group reserving a good spot in the budding mobile sports wagering field.
