When it comes to sports wagering and daily fantasy sports, players want to get the best of both worlds. FanDuel Group recently announced its collaboration with the Major League Baseball that is projected to span over the upcoming years. As a result of it, the daily fantasy giant is about to become an official authorized gaming operator of MLB. The milestone agreement comes only weeks after the MLB inked an agreement with another DFS giant – DraftKings.
Daily fantasy sports has seen an increasing growth of popularity, as more and more people participate in the activity with their friends. It is a special activity and a way of bonding among friends, relatives, and everyone willing to test their knowledge of sports. FanDuel is now ready to expand and enhance its offerings with the new partnership with MLB. With the help of the new partnership, the online sports betting offerings and brick-and-mortar sportsbook would see a positive boost.
FanDuel Teams Up with MLB
In an ever-changing field where everyone is ready to go above and beyond for diverse offerings, FanDuel is ready to step up its game with this latest partnership. Thanks to the inked arrangement, the daily fantasy giant is going to gain access to official MLB data and implement it within its platform and sportsbooks.
Moreover, this would also give it the right to introduce the renowned marks and logos associated with MLB. Kip Levin, President and COO of FanDuel Group, stated that nowadays many people participate in sports wagering and daily fantasy sports regularly and prefer it as a spare time activity. With the official partnership already arranged, players are going to experience wider gaming possibilities down the road with many new offerings coming their way.
A total of 45 states have access to the premium offerings powered by FanDuel which means that players across the US would now have the chance to be immersed into the MLB world. It should be taken into account that half of the players participating in daily fantasy activities wager on a daily basis.
DraftKings Announced Agreement Extension
Sports wagering is a hot topic across the states, New York being among the latest states to launch in-person sports betting. FanDuel has a strong presence in the field and locals are already preparing for the expanded offerings. The last days of July saw more action from the MLB, this time linked to the other daily fantasy giant – DraftKings.
The original agreement between the two entities has existed ever since 2013, but last month saw its extension over the next few years linked exclusively to gaming offerings. It should be taken into account that there is a parallel daily fantasy agreement that is set to expire at the end of this year’s season, having been inked in 2015.
It is subject to ongoing negotiations. MLB has decided to refrain from being a shareholder in gambling projects down the road, which is an important decision in today’s environment. This is especially true following the United States Supreme Court’s decision to give each state the choice to regulate sports wagering.
