One of the most memorable events which saw the sponsorship of the British Columbia Lottery Corporation was the XV Commonwealth Games in Victoria. The event took place between August 18 and August 28, 1994. It could be recalled that back in 1988, Victoria’s bid managed to defeat those of New Delhi and Cardiff and became the winning one.

As many as 2,557 athletes from 63 countries participated in the games spanning over ten days. Queen Elizabeth II was also among the volunteers kicking off the sports event. Another special event for the Crown corporation took place in 2010. This is when the 2010 Winter Olympics which transformed Vancouver into the place to be, of you are a winter sports fan. Those were the XXI Olympic Winter Games commencing on February 12, 2010.
